Welcome to 'Food to Feed the Family'. This is the culmination of the past 6 months of my experience on MasterChef Australia, but also of the past 5-6 years of hard work as a home cook. I have always been excited about food - mostly because I love eating - and I cook most of the food at home. Over the past few years, I have spent a lot more time in the kitchen, experimenting and pushing to improve the quality of food that I make, both for my family, and especially when entertaining friends. I decided to take the crazy step of applying for Season 7 of MasterChef Australia, and much to my surprise, I managed to not only make it through the initial audition process, but also through the Top 50 auditions and into the Top 24.

That resulted in one of the most amazing experiences of my life, living in the MasterChef bubble. I had the fortune to be mentored by 4 amazing people - Shannon Bennett, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston. Shannon has always been a bit of a food idol for me - I've made a lot of stuff from his cook books, and been lucky enough to dine at Vue de Monde - so learning from him, and cooking for him, was a dream come true. Not only that, I got to cook for some of the best chefs in Australia and the world. Not many people get the opportunity to put plates of their own food in front of amazing chefs like Heston Blumenthal, Marco Pierre White, Rick Stein, Massimo Bottura, Janice Wong, Curtis Stone and Darren Purchese. The constant food challenges, and the competition from the other contestants, has improved my cooking beyond where I thought was possible.

None of this would have been possible without the support of my amazing family - my wife Erika, and two children, Emily and Lachlan. They are my inspiration, and the reason that I enjoy cooking so much.

I'm hoping to share my passion for food, with some recipes, instructional videos and food reviews with you here. I hope you enjoy!!
